On Monday 31 August, an AIR ONE Boeing 747-400F transported 95 tonnes of telecommunications equipment from Nội Bài International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, to Viracopos International Airport in São Paulo, Brazil, on a dedicated charter operated on ER-BAM for JAS Forwarding.
Vietnam has become one of Asia’s most important manufacturing hubs for global technology companies, with high-value exports continuing to grow. The manufacturing sector has been a central point of Vietnam’s exceptional growth, as it is quickly becoming a popular destination for companies looking to set up facilities in new locations and optimise their global supply chains.
Vietnam’s electronics and tech exports reached have reached $175.4 billion in the first 9 months of 2026 alone. As production volumes increase, so does the need for reliable air cargo capacity to move time-sensitive and high-value goods beyond established trade lanes.
Simultaneously, Latin America is moving in parallel as demand from our customers continues to expand, extending well beyond e-commerce as we see growth in other sectors requiring more regular air cargo transportation.
For shipments of this scale, a dedicated widebody freighter provides the capacity and flexibility needed to connect major manufacturing origins with destinations around the world.
“Vietnam has become one of the most important manufacturing origins in Asia for high-value technology exports, and demand to move that product beyond the usual trade lanes is growing. Getting 95 tonnes from Hanoi to Brazil is what a 747 freighter is for. We were glad JAS Forwarding trusted us with it, and we look forward to doing more together.”
Ilya Gavrilin, Business Development Director APAC, AIR ONE
The charter highlights the flexibility of AIR ONE’s global freighter network, supporting freight forwarders with dedicated capacity for large, high-value and time-sensitive shipments across emerging trade lanes.
ER-BAM is part of the AIR ONE fleet and is operated by AeroTransCargo. AIR ONE is a global cargo aviation group operating 13 dedicated widebody freighters across three AOCs, providing charter and scheduled cargo solutions across established and emerging markets.
